So, today I had an interview. Not a job interview, but an interview about me. An interview that started with when I was a little girl and finished with now. At the start of this interview I recall thinking how boring it was going to be. I don't have a story to tell. I'm not famous. I didn't climb Mt Everest. I've never saved a small village in Africa. I am quite boring. Just an average person.
As I started tellling my story I realised just how complex a single life can be. So many aspects of my life forgotten in the every day rush. It wasn't until the "probing" started that I remembered things I hadn't thought about in years. Things that make up the very essence of me. Things that I perhaps wanted to forget once. Things that I now realise I don't want to forget. These things are me. These things define who I am, where I've come from and where I'm going.
Every single one of us is a book filled with stories. Some short, some long. Some funny, some sad. Some simple, some complex.
My book would fall under the genre of Epic Drama (I've created a new genre for my book) and it would be written by Jackie Collins and Jodi Piccoult.
What genre would your book fall under and who would write it?
